Padma Buddhist Centre is a small, but dedicated group of practitioners who are also associated with the national network of centres established within the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, by Lama Choedak Rinpoche.
Established in 1997, Padma Buddhist Centre was established in 1997 by Elizabeth Knight and has been at Point Vernon from 2007 until April 2012.
The centre offers a weekly teaching & practice schedule, including classes in Introduction to Calm Abiding Meditation, for those who wish to discover and develop their inner potential. Calm Abiding Meditation requires no Buddhist commitment and is suitable for all.
Regular Calm Abiding Meditation courses are held throughout the year.
Our Spiritual Director Lama Choedak Rinpoche visits annually for talks. Other teachers are invited for teachings when available.
“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”
~ Dalai Lama
